Narcissus (Daffodil)

Narcissus (commonly called daffodil) is a genus of mainly hardy, mostly spring-flowering, herbaceous perennials in the Amaryllis family, subfamily Amaryllidoideae. Their native range includes Europe, North Africa and West Asia—their center of distribution is in the Western Mediterranean. The number of distinct species varies widely depending on how they are classified, with the disparity due to similarity between species and hybridization between species.
